Hot and dry conditions are expected to continue for the rest of July.
There are no signs of any major changes in the jet steam pattern which has already caused record heat in many areas and one of the worst droughts in decades. The middle of our country has been especially hard hit with widespread corn crop failures. Food prices are expected to climb in the months ahead.

There is not much more to say a hot dry summer is likely headed our way!
Checking my favorite blogger on Weatherunderground, Blizz92, he agrees with my sense that a dry above normal temperature summer regime will set in. He thinks the early summer will show this trend most strongly. An emerging El NiƱo may modify the late summer.

This Spring is predicted to be very warm and the summer looks to be near normal in temperatures, here in the Eastern US.
The center of the USA is expected to run above normal in temperatures this summer.
FWIW, the hurricane season may bring 1 or 2 storms to the Eastern Seaboard. Most tropical systems are now expected to remain over open waters.
These long range hurricane predictions have a history of huge errors, so much so, that many have given up on even attempting to prognosticate on them in the long range.
We can say that the Atlantic Basin temperatures appear to be unfavorable for large numbers of tropical storms this season, as of now.

A snowy start tomorrow afternoon but only Sussex County should see significant accumulations.
Areas like High Point and West Milford may see several inches of snow or ice but most areas will quickly turn to rain.
