HOLD ALL YOUR BETS, because there has been a major shift in the models.

Check the late afternoon forecasts because a much nastier snowstorm may hit, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania!  The weather may be about to surprise all of us!

For the last 2 days this storm has been gaining all the earmarks of a MAJOR  winter storm.  Yet, the models have been mostly downplaying it here at the surface w here we live.  Now there appears to be a major shift to a more intense storm.

AO has gone negative.
NAO Is also more favorable.
The trough over the eastern US is now going to tilt negative.
A 50/50 low near Newfoundland will help direct the storm our way.
The storm will move closer, move slower and give more snow.
Record or near record cold temps are very near to us.
The Western ridge has a more favorable position.
The trough and the arctic low are digging further south.

But since the models have been all over the place it is hard to judge what may happen.  If the latest trend continues prepare for over a foot of snow in many areas, high winds and bitter cold.
