Suddenly it is looking snowier Wed. night.

I can't figure the details but 6" + is now looking likely as a grand finale of the storm. Heavy snow and difficult travel Wednesday late. Rain and sleet will prevail Wednesday afternoon.

An arctic disturbance diving toward the Great Lakes is going to interact with the low coming up from the Gulf of Mexico.  This will infuse cold air and a cold high pressure system will be moving into southern Canada just in time to continue the supply of cold air.  This means more snow especially for North Jersey, Northeast PA and central Jersey. South Jersey is getting mostly rain.

This scenario is almost a carbon copy of what happened in December.  Not as cold, not as much snow, but certainly not a big rainstorm.

That is IF all of the above works out.  Wednesday night looks rough right now.  Stay tuned.

Many thanks to NYNJPAWeather.com.

Worst case scenario, even NYC gets 12"snow
