NAM computer model predicts snow for Northern New Jersey
*****************
Wednesday night could see accumulating snow in the 4 to 8 inch range depending on how far inland you are. That is the 84 hour forecast which is beyond the reliable range for the NAM Model. Tomorrow morning, Monday, could bring in some new forecasts. Stay tuned. Northeast PA would get even more.
?????????????????????????????
This storm has been showing up on various model runs for 10 days, and nobody has given it much of a chance, until now. Worst case scenario would be a few inches of snow and ice for NYC up to a foot or more in the Poconos and Catskills. That is not the forecast now.

High winds with gusts over 50 mph headed our way tonight.
A squall line will move through early this evening and will be followed by high winds later, winds will build before midnight. DuBois PA, reported a 58mph gust. The strongest winds will occur after midnight.
As for snow, less has fallen than anticipated up north although the far northern mountains may see 6 to 10 " of snow. ( if that) Winds early tomorrow will hamper skiers. Looking at radar returns a 3 to 5" snow total seems more likely with higher amounts at the mountain peaks.
Report 6 pm Stowe, VT.: Heavy snow falling.

Worst snow storm?
Probably in early America, when the colonists described a storm with snow so deep, the horses could not go through it. No measurements were ever reported though.
1888 Blizzard produced 4 foot totals in New York and New England. New York City had 21" but with fierce winds and low temperatures. All transit stopped. That was March 12th.

A storm this weekend now looks more likely.
The TYPE of precipitation is in doubt, but according to DT at WxRisk, south Jersey is most likely to see accumulating snow. All is very much in doubt until the Thursday or Friday forecast maps roll in.

Snow this weekend. ???
I am not very impressed by the potential snow this weekend, but it has more going for it than we have seen so far. The models are not focused on an agreement for the track and intensity, just yet. A general lack of cold air is a problem, as well.

THE LONG RANGER, forecasting to infinity and beyond.
According to Henry at AccuWeather.com and the GFS, there is a chance for a snowstorm around mid-February, stay tuned.
I don't see any real prospects for snow within the next 7 days. If we do get snow it will come around Feb. 15 or 16th, followed by a big warm up. Winter will be over then. As the song goes: "It might as well be spring"
