Snow is breaking out ahead of the main storm. The main round of the precip. is after dark today. Based on what is now happening, the predictions for snow totals may need to be increased. But, in some areas the snow totals may decrease.  Some unexpected developments seem to be taking shape.

***Forecasters are being described as throwing up their hands and saying " whatever "! A very rapidly changing situation and very tough to forecast.  Surprises are ahead.

***10:00 am This is a surprise "pre-storm" and it may ease off later.  The big stuff is expected tonight, so far.

***11 am NWS just bumped up Essex county to 6" to 10".
